Green Generations is a residential space that stands out for its commitment to sustainability and innovative design. The project incorporates unique features that not only enhance the living experience but also minimize the environmental impact.
One of the standout features of Green Generations is the installation of vertically moving equipment, strategically placed in the middle of the house. This design choice not only strengthens the connection between different spaces but also provides convenience, especially for the elderly residents. By considering the needs of the elderly, the rooms closest to the moving equipment have been allocated to them, and the height of indoor steps and thresholds in the bathroom has been reduced.
In terms of ventilation and energy-saving design, Green Generations utilizes both active and passive air-conditioning methods. During hot summers, the extended eaves provide shade for the interior spaces, and residents can actively adjust the temperature of individual rooms with air-conditioning equipment. In the cooler seasons, the passive temperature adjustment method is employed, utilizing indoor and outdoor air circulation to adjust room temperature, improve air quality, and save energy.
The design team also prioritized the use of eco-friendly green building materials and recyclable materials such as iron and wood. Additionally, stone materials have been treated with crystallization and water-repellent treatments to increase durability and stain resistance. These choices not only contribute to the sustainability of the project but also enhance the longevity of the materials used.
Located in Changhua County, Taiwan, Green Generations is a testament to the possibilities of sustainable and environmentally conscious architecture. Completed in December 2020, this project serves as an inspiration for future residential spaces that prioritize both comfort and sustainability.
Green Generations has been recognized for its outstanding design and commitment to sustainability. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges the project's creative ingenuity, technical excellence, and contribution to improving the quality of life.
With Green Generations, SPU Design international has successfully created a residential space that not only harmonizes with nature but also sets a new standard for sustainable living. This project serves as a reminder that innovative design and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand, creating a better future for generations to come.
